Today’s dose of edifying, civilized fun from Douglas “Rabbit” Sutherland:

PETTING ZOO

I've watched with dour amusement the
Republican debates;
I've winced at vitriolic ads
To shoot down candidates.

I've come up with an answer to
What all these folks should do:
Give up the race and start, instead,
A high-end petting zoo!--

Turn off the stupid bickering
To save us more dismay,
String up the yellow ropes and let
The kiddies pet away!

On second thought, it's possible
That children have more sense!--
Would rather handle cobras than
Stick fingers through a fence

Where hungry politicians roam
With teeth filed sharp as knives
(Ignoring our intelligence
And giving me the hives)!
